How to Install a Watch Face on Wear OS

The steps can differ by watch, phone, and watch face app. Use the instructions on the app’s current listing when they differ from the general steps below.

Before you begin

• Check that your watch is connected and signed in to the Google account you use for Google Play.
• Open the exact watch face listing and check its supported devices and requirements.
• Make sure your watch has a working internet connection or is connected to your phone as required by your setup.

Install from Google Play

1. Open the watch face listing in Google Play.
2. Select an eligible watch when Google Play offers a device choice, then follow the installation prompt.
3. Wait for installation to finish on the watch. If the face does not appear, check the watch’s app list and the listing’s setup instructions.

Select your new watch face

On many Wear OS watches, touch and hold the current watch face, then browse available faces and select the one you installed. The exact controls can vary by device. See Google’s guide to changing a watch face.

If you cannot find the face

• Confirm that the app was installed on the watch, not only on the phone.
• Check that the watch appears as eligible on the app listing.
• Restart the watch and check again.
• Review the developer’s instructions on the listing for any companion app or additional setup.
